A Breath of Fire Fanfic

This fanfic takes place in a world set before the first Breath of Fire game. It centers around the journey of a mysterious toddler name Lakaiko (pronounced: La-kay-Ko) and his adopter, Imperial, a young woman driven to find out her past using the disturbing nightmares she has had since she was a child.

An omnipotent force is slowly shifting the balance of 'Destiny', rotting the planet in the process.

Imperial, Lakaiko and an unlikely band of heroes are drawn together to fight a seemingly unbeatable foe, the creator of the cycle of rebirth itself.
