He couldn't move in his crystalline prison. He watches as Evan moves from one friend to the next, destroying their crystals and taking their lives. Words spill from Evan's mouth but are lost upon the dragon. He can feel his rage tearing through the bindings and his spirit breaks free of the spell. He is too late for the last one has been shattered. He turns toward his enemy with fire in his eyes and screams a blood-curdling yell. Evan sees the rage too and backs away to the far end of the long hall, seeking escape from his nikanaru, the one he thought had come just to free him. Ryu sprints down the hall, Evan's spells causing explosions to rip and bite at him but his rage lets him ignore the pain.

"EVAN! I'LL KILL YOU!" he yells swinging his sword in a wide arch at the god's face.

Evan recoils from the attack clutching his injured eye, he says more words that don't penetrate the veil of rage covering Ryu's eyes in red and filling his ears with his own yells. Evan backs away, falling of the platform into the fathomless pit below. It isn't enough, Ryu doesn't feel relief or joy as his enemy fades into darkness. As he turns to go back to his friends a voice comes to him.

"I will not be defeated by a crumb like you!" the massive voice booms, causing the whole cavern to shake.

An incredibly gigantic hand grabs the side of the platform and hauls up a creature from the deepest pits of hell. It has two large legs and many foot-like appendages. On the creatures sides are two heavily muscled arms with hands that end in claws. It has purple skin and a wide mouth filled with razor-sharp teeth The head itself does not hold the mouth, which is on the creature's stomach, instead it has two large red eyes, one with a long slash on it.

Ryu smiles in an evil way, this is what he wants, to deliver pain upon the man in front of him and never have him know the peace of the grave. He never wants Evan to die or disappear, he wants him to be forever cut by his blade and bleed. He has nothing to return to the surface for, he killed his own father underneath the great church and failed to save his sister. He grasps the one thing left to him, his sword and hacks at the creature with all his might. It isn't enough and Death Evan throws him back with a laugh.

"LAUGH AT THIS!" Ryu yelled summoning the power of Anfini.

His memories come flooding back in a rush and nearly destroy him, his father, mother, sister, friends, all dead. He curses the Anfini for the visions, unaware that his friends have been revived behind him with the power of Anfini. They all rush up to join him: Nina, Katt, Bow, Rand, Bleu, Spar, Sten, and Jean. They call out to him and he turns. It is his final mistake as Death Evan shreds his body before the eyes of his friends.

"NOOO!" they all cry, overwhelmed with the guilt of their friend's death. Jean rushes forward with a jab and Death Evan laughs, Spar whips him across the face and Death Evan laughs, Nina and Bleu shoot sheets of lightning into his mouth and face as Death Evan laughs, Rand pummels him with a furious attack none have seen before and Death Evan laughs, Bow shoots his bolts into the tender points of the monster and Death Evan laughs, Katt slams her staff repeatedly into his side and Death Evan laughs, Sten jumps on Evan's back and stabs repeatedly into the back of the creature with his daggers as Death Evan laughs.

"Now, face the true power of god!" the creature yells.

Death Evan bucks, throwing Sten off into the pit, his cries fading away until they disappear. He grabs Nina with his right hand and Bleu in his left, stuffing them into his maw and chewing, the sounds of cracking bones sicken the remaining members of the party. Spar jumps in to hit the monster with another lash of his whip and stops in midair, one of Evan's clawed hands through his body. The others fall back, looking at their dead friends and the one responsible.

"Why did this happen?" Katt exclaimed with tears of rage streaming down her face.

"Because you sought to destroy god." Came Death Evan's emotionless response.

Bow lifts his bow and shoots repeatedly at the cut eye as Evan advances slowly on them. Rand charges in, oblivious to the fact that he is vastly over powered and grabs the creature, trying to toss it over the side. The leg things shoot out and kick at him in the face weakening him until Rand loses the strength to continue. He falls to the ground and Evan crosses over the body, crushing it.

"We must flee!" Jean yells, "We won't be able to help anyone if that creature kills us too."

Katt ignores him and lunges at Death Evan. She gouges long lines through his flesh with her claws while avoiding his arms, for a short time. He grabs her and slams her to the ground, she feels her bones break and her world go dark. Before she is released from life he takes her head in his hand and snaps her neck, finally letting the lifeless body drop to the ground. The two survivors find some relief that she died with her eyes closed, instead of staring back at them blankly.

"Now! We must leave!" Jean shouts again, grabbing Bow by the arm and running away toward the exit.

They run from the room and somehow manage to reach Dologany. As they tear into the town the elders look at them fearfully.

"What has happened?" they asked fearfully.

Bow gave them a look which said everything and they sighed.

"Leave here, quickly, we will hold him back." The eldest one said.

As Bow and Jean started the final ascent to the surface they looked back to see the people of Dologany all turn into to dragons. They wouldn't be able to stop Evan.

Sprinting up toward the surface the two find little resistance and manage to avoid it. At last they reach the gate and throw themselves through.

"Do it!" Jean cries to Eihichi who pilots Township, which is feeding off of the bodies of the six shamans. He forces the thing to land, crushing the gate and sealing the passage.

Peace doesn't truly return to the land as the demons that had already been released ravage the cities and people. As time passes slowly the chaos escalates and the people lose hope. Bow and Jean never again raise their weapons in defense where they could've made some difference to the people. More and more humans turn to the teachings of St. Eva, praying for their god to come to them. He does. It is only a short amount of time before Evan gathers enough strength to escape infinity and destroy the world. Until then Jean and Bow continue to have nightmares of their friends' demise.
